As a Junior Designer at Koelhuis Frigo, Julia worked on the renovation of a garden house in the center of Amsterdam. Designed as a tranquil workspace and a retreat for all seasons, the house blurs the boundary between indoors and outdoors. To achieve this, the flooring seamlessly extends from outside to inside, the swimming pond features the same terrazzo as the kitchen countertop, and wooden elements have been subtly integrated into the interior. To create an open connection with the garden, she designed accordion windows spanning the entire front facade, inspired by the film Roma. Additionally, a skylight was added to enhance natural light, allowing the interior to shift with the changing daylight throughout the day.
